Special thanks to our exalted president Warren Kaufman, George Copsey, Gene Meale, Lou Lane and Joe Capello for all their hard work and for what they have done for our group. Warren has been exchanging emails with members and handling the check-ins at dailies among other things; George has been handling the financial side and check-ins; Lou has been handling our out-of-town trips; Gene has been handling check-ins and assisting in too many ways to note here; and Joe has been our ombudsman. The next time you see them, thank them for all they do. Some say no one ever asked them to thank them, but I’m asking you to do so now. Upcoming out-of-town trips include Carroll Valley (August 8-10) and Shenvalee (September 5-7). Prospective members should note that you can attend one or more dailies or trips. One member is trying to see if we can get a group discount by having our ball retrievers regripped. We had 42 golfers at Prince William and the weather couldn’t have been better. Closest to the pin winners were J. Sinclair, Obert and Darrell Gott. South Riding had cloud cover, and with the usual shotgun start, we didn’t see any rain until about the fourth hole. Closest to the pin were Brian Gunn, Dick Higdon and Bob Brever. Unfortunately, we were rained out at Forest Greens.
