The Arlington Council (Arl2473) was founded in 1923 as the Edward Douglass White Council; and is the largest Knights of Columbus in Virginia and one of the largest in the Order. Our over 1,200 members serve as the home council for St. Agnes, St. Ann, St. Charles Borromeo parishes in Arlington and St. James parish in Falls Church.
Our beautiful 10-acre campus with a historic stone mansion atop Reserve Hill, less than 4 minutes from Bishop Denis J. O’Connell High School in Arlington, serves as our Council Home. Our large membership and Reserve Hill campus with its amenities affords us the opportunity to assist and aid our parishes, Kovar, VKCCI, the Knights of Columbus, and the Arlington community in so many diverse ways. From hosting diocesan events, financial support, fundraisers, and a ready supply of volunteers at a moment’s notice - Arl2473 stands ready at all times in service to God, our family and our country.
Our council is locally well-known for providing OVER 3,000 Thanksgiving meals to the disadvantaged each year, leads its brother councils throughout Virginia in raising money for hosting and serving over 16,000 Honor Flight Veterans Newtwork and guardians since 2012, and a PLATINUM SPONSOR of the Jennifer Bush-Lawson Foundation 5K run each year that raises over $100,000 for pre- and post-natal health and wellness care and support at the Arlington Pediatric Center and the Virginia Hospital Center’s Outpatient Women’s OB Clinic.
